How I Plan My Business Week as a Mom: From CEO Mondays to Client Fridays

People ask how I fit a business around soccer practices, homeschool days and a household that never stops. The honest answer is that I don't fit it in. I give every day one job, and I stop at 3.

Here's exactly what my week looks like, and how to build your own version.

Why one job per day works

When every day holds a little of everything, you spend the whole day switching gears. Give each day one main job, and every new task already has a home: "That's a Thursday thing." Decision made.

My week, day by day

  • CEO Monday. Numbers, goals and planning. I look at what came in, what went out and what matters most this week.

  • Build days (Tuesday and Wednesday). Heads-down time building client systems in ClickUp and the tools my clients already use.

  • Content Thursday. Podcast recording, blog posts and email. All my creating happens on one day, so it never leaks into the others.

  • Client Friday. Calls, check-ins and walkthroughs, so clients always know when they'll hear from me.

The hard stop at 3

I work 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Evenings and weekends are for family, faith and workouts. The stop time is what makes the rest of the schedule honest. If the work doesn't fit, the plan was too full, not me too slow.

When life happens (and it will)

A sick day or a tournament weekend doesn't break the system. Swap days, don't skip them. If Thursday disappears, content moves to Friday and client calls move to Monday. The jobs stay the same; only the order changes.

Build your own week in three steps

  1. List your recurring jobs. Planning, client work, content, admin, money.

  2. Give each one a day. Match the job to your energy (creative work where you're freshest).

  3. Pick a stop time and guard it. Put your non-negotiables on the calendar first, then fill in work around them.
